Sherborn and Ride Headquarters were the expected stars of the Honey 101. A new partnership between Overland Base Camp and Ride Headquarters opens up all new opportunities for fantastic rides, mixed-terrain and paved. The inaugural ride starting from the aptly named Ride Headquarters gave us just a glimpse into the new world of riding that Southern Massachusetts has to offer.
An overcast day with spots of rain was the perfect reprieve from the recent heat wave and the ideal conditions for an adventure ride. Riders were greeted with a hot scrambled egg and french toast breakfast, complete with fresh coffee; french-pressed, cold brewed, or mocha. After fueling up, the riders took off on a 101 km or 51 km route for everything Southeastern Massachusetts has to offer.
The route led riders through trails with rocks, roots, slick leaves, fields, grassy knolls, single track, double track, broken pavement, gravel, and some pristine pavement. At the last stop, an ice cream truck complete with nostalgic music awaited the riders. Riders had an array of choices from popsicles to ice cream sandwiches.
